As scientists, you are trained to think critically, question assumptions, and acknowledge uncertainty. While this mindset is essential for good research, it can make it challenging to communicate the value of your research confidently and convincingly – whether at conferences, in grant applications, or when discussing your research with a non-scientific audience.
In this interactive workshop, we will explore how to present your research in the best possible light without exaggerating or compromising scientific integrity. Through practical exercises and peer feedback, participants will learn how to recognize and communicate the strengths, potential, and broader relevance of their work.
The goal is not to make your research sound better than it is, but to recognize that there is a wide spectrum between underselling your work and overstating your findings. By learning to navigate this space, you will develop the confidence to communicate the value of your research more effectively, convincingly, and authentically.
