In the documentary, Harald Lesch talks to Ferenc Krausz about the world of the smallest particles, the world of quanta. Today’s technology would be inconceivable without our knowledge of this world. In the future, it could revolutionize our lives. As we are celebrating 100 years of quantum physics this year, Harald Lesch explores its significance then and now. Together with Ferenc Krausz, he explores where quantum research will take us in the future – beyond our imagination. 

Ferenc Krausz and his team use special laser technology to develop high-precision blood analyses that are designed to detect diseases as early as possible. Their goal: recording the complete molecular composition of a blood sample. This will enable them to find indications of pathological changes much earlier and much more accurately. How far has this research progressed? And what does the strange world of quantum physics have to do with it?
