Time flies!
Our former IMPRS-APS student Prof. Mohammed Hassan visited us at the MPQ twelve years after his graduation.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming back Prof. Mohammed Hassan, a former IMPRS-APS student, to the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics.
Prof. Hassan's career trajectory since his graduation in the Attoelectronics group from MPQ, under the guidance of Prof. Ferenc Krausz and Dr. Eleftherios Goulielmakis, has been truly remarkable. Following his postdoctoral research with Prof. Ahmed Zewail at Caltech, he joined the University of Arizona. Here, he now serves as a professor of physics and optical sciences and runs the Attomicroscopy Lab.
At yesterday's MPQ colloquium, Prof. Hassan delivered an inspiring talk titled “Exploring the Limits of Time: From Attosecond Electron Microscopy Imaging To Petahertz Quantum Tunneling and Communication”. In his talk, he presented groundbreaking advancements in ultrafast electron microscopy, quantum current tunneling in graphene, and ultrafast squeezed light, establishing transformative capabilities in attosecond science and technology.
Thanks for your visit and talk, Mohammed - we really enjoyed having you here! It's incredible to see how far you’ve come over the past 12 years.
